In sustainable and emission-free electromobility, fuel cells will play a key role in energy supply alongside exclusively battery-electric vehicles. This applies in particular to trucks with high payloads and a long range. For this reason, the PEMFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell) fuel cell is the subject of current research work at IAM-ET and Schaeffler AG.
The fuel cell system comprises several hundred cells connected in series within a stack as the central element and the necessary peripheral auxiliary units. This system will be described simulatively in this thesis.
