Research

In the context of the energy transition, electroorganic syntheses represent a promising opportunity to promote the change to renewable energies in the energy-intensive chemical industry. Here, the applied electrical potential, instead of thermal energy, is the driving force of the syntheses. In order to better understand the processes in the electrolyzer, these can be represented by means of physicochemical models, which allow statements to be made about the synthesis as a function of the operating point. For this reason,model-based analysis of anodic oxidation in electroorganic synthesis is the focus of my research. The aim is to identify and localize the individual process steps and to optimize the operating parameters for electroorganic synthesis. For the experimental validation, a Shono-type reaction is used.
